Al Noor Mosque

Among the wonderful of Sharjah's 600 mosques, with its architecture designed on traditional Ottoman design, Al Noor has a fantasy setting overlooking the Khalid Lagoon. It is the emirate's just mosque open to non-Muslims, on guided, free one-hour visits worked week by week by the philanthropic Sharjah Center for Cultural Communication. Visits take around 45 minutes and comprise of a discussion on the mosque's plan, Islam and Emirati customs and close with time to take photographs and free gahwa. There's no enlistment needed for the visit; simply turn up five minutes before 10am on Monday.
