ARTIS is a remarkable place for kids – obviously it does get busy, mainly throughout the Dutch faculty vacations. There is a small petting zoo at the right just after the doorway. Comprehensive centers are provided such as kids’ playgrounds, a number of restaurants/cafes and a poffertje residence promoting mini-pancakes. Free guided tours in English (minimal celebration of eight) are available on request – book at the least 3 weeks in advance. A beneficial English map of ARTIS can be purchased at the front table. With chairs, beautiful timber, a water table fountain and perspectives of the flamingo pond and Dutch polder aviary, its miles adorable spot to sit down. ARTIS has a number of theatres and venues (together with the Aquarium) available for hire for personal conferences and events. During the summer (June, July and August) on Saturday evenings open till sundown, with a unique application known as ZOOmeravonden with occasions for kids, music, guided tours and more. ARTIS Amsterdam Royal Zoo (or Natura Artis Magistra) is one of the city’s ideal tourist points of interest – an impressive zoo set in a big park inside the picturesque Plantage vicinity of the metropolis.
