The combination of Portuguese-Manueline style portal from the older shape into the later Tuscan style constructing, to provide a completely unique specimen of structure! The adjacent convent houses the Museum of Archaeological History. In comparison to the simple outer façade the interiors of the church are unabashedly and lavishly embellished in the Baroque fashion using Corinthian influences. The spotlight is the principle altar, which has great examples of this type of paintings. The altar is devoted to St. Francis of Assisi and has above it a large statue of the saint, and every other of Jesus. These statues show brilliant capabilities and attention to element. Flanking the altar is high-quality art work on wood depicting scenes from the life of St. Francis of Assisi and the records of the Seraphic Order.  Although this church isn't as big because the illustrious Se Cathedral, it is beautiful however. It is a single-nave church with 3 small chapels on either side of the nave. There are two altars except the primary one, which is dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi.
