This small rugged island is home to staggering flora and fauna, a famous eating place and a rather appeared crusing school. Heir Island, or because it occasionally mentioned, Hare Island, is located inside the amazing Roaringwater Bay in West Cork. It is surrounded by using a panorama of Sherkin Island, Cape Clear, the Calf Islands, the East and West Skeams and Mount Gabriel to the north. Heir Island is one of the maximum on hand and sheltered of the Carbery’s Hundred Isles and can be effortlessly explored walking or on a bicycle. The extensive marshland on the centre of the island has a vibrant reed bed wherein you will find many uncommon birds, as well as over two hundred varieties of wild plants. The sheltered bays and sandy seashores are perfect for sailing, windsurfing, swimming and diving. The island's crusing school is the excellent manner to make the most of those water sports activities. Heir Island is also domestic to many widely known artists, who were interested in the island due to its breathtaking panorama and peaceful surroundings.
