InClassica International Music Festival maintains with From My Bookshelf at Dubai Opera on Tuesday 31 August 2021. As a violinist of colourful power, impeccable taste and wealthy sound, Sergei Dogadin is the right soloist for Camille Saint-Saëns’s Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, a usually French piece of track, full of discreet elegance, the parfum of the Parisian salons and grandiose virtuosity. Dogadin also plays the solo violin in Alexey Shor’s Four Seasons of Manhattan, a completely private technique to the exchange of seasons within the American town. As the Russian National Orchestra conductor, Mikhail Pletnev suggests a highly Russian perspective on the cycle of seasons that inspired Alexander Glasunov to jot down a ballet evoking a tableau painted with sensitive colours and chic orchestration. Award-winning Uzbek pianist Behzod Abduraimov is the soloist in Alexey Shor’s Concerto for piano and orchestra from my Bookshelf. Under the baton of Gergely Madaras, the Russian National Orchestra combines this painting through the present day composer with the overture to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s remaining opera, Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute), in addition to the splendor and religious depth of Johannes Brahms’s Symphony No. 4.
