The Bull Temple which is also known as Nandi Temple is one of the ancient temples in the city. The temple is prominently called as 'Dodda Basavana Gudi' by local people and is the greatest sanctuary committed to Nandi on the planet. Nandi, the bull, is the mount or 'vahana' of Lord Shiva and the gatekeeper god of Lord Shiva's house, Kailashagiri; as per Hindu customs. This sanctuary is each Shiva fan's must-visit objective in light of the fact that Nandi holds extraordinary significance to Lord Shiva. The building style of the Bull Temple is chiefly Dravidian and was built by Kempe Gowda.
