The Old Royal Naval College (ORNC) is an appealing architectural feat, extending along the banks of the River Thames, the stupendous focal point of the Maritime Greenwich UNESCO World Heritage site. Originally designed as a Royal Naval Hospital, the ORNC was crafted by amazing modeller Sir Christopher Wren and was based on the site of the Greenwich Palace, the origin of Henry VIII. The great classical buildings, with their twin domes, striking colonnaded façade and vast lawns presently serve as the emotional highlight of Greenwich and offer a fascinating prologue to the neighborhood for visitors.
