In 1995, the Texas Trees Foundation committed Pioneer Plaza to the City of Dallas giving a point with historical significance for downtown Dallas. The Plaza recognizes Dallas' beginnings by commending the path that carried pioneers to Dallas. The site highlights local plants and trees and a streaming stream in a characteristic setting and a re-production of a steers drive in bronze with longhorn steers being driven by three cattle rustlers on ponies. It is found contiguous the Dallas Convention Centre at Young and Griffin between the authentic Pioneer Cemetery and the Dallas Convention Centre. Pioneer Plaza speaks to the biggest public open space in the focal business area.
