Saeng Tham Shrine

The Shrine of the Serene Light, regionally called Sang Tham Shrine, is a beautifully adorned Chinese Temple on Phang Nga Road, one of the maximum well-known streets of Phuket Town. It used to be ‘the little hidden Chinese temple’ tucked away at the stop of a small route, right underneath your nose. While most Thais knew all about it, only some foreigners might be aware of its life, and those who knew might proudly whisper its secret location to inexperienced persons like a vintage secret passage to some mystic temple. The Shrine of the Serene Light is an area of sanctity and worship to Chinese deities. Surrounded by using tall buildings, its location in a small courtyard makes it a peaceful and quiet spot inside the coronary heart of the busy town. The temple best receives very loud whilst the unique structures for putting off firecrackers are in use, such as Chinese New Year and Phuket's Vegetarian Festival. You can see the splendid Si Yin Gui murals, stained by using over a hundred years of burning candles and incense in veneration of the deities they depict.
