If you think that Buckingham Palace was the authority royal residence in Britain, then you were wrong. The senior royal residence of the sovereign is really St. James's, which sits just across Green Park from Buckingham Palace between The Mall and Pall Mall. This is the place where several members of the imperial family reside and keep their household offices. St. James' Palace is much of the time used for true functions, including state visits and noble cause functions. Tragically, the upshot of this is that the royal residence isn't available to the general population – you need to get a challenge to visit. Yet, regardless of whether you're not on the guest list for one of the authority events, it is still possible to wonder about the castle's awesome engineering from the outside. St. James' Palace remains a busy working castle which is usually used for engaging unfamiliar dignitaries and heads of state during true visits. It is also used for around 100 cause receptions including members of the regal family every year, plus various other proper events.
