At 23 hectares, St James's is the 2nd smallest of the 8th royal parks after Green Park. But what it needs size it compensates for in preparing, as it is the most manicured green space in London. It has splendid perspectives on the London Eye, Westminster, St James' Palace, Carlton House Terrace and Horse Guards Parade; the all around flawless sight of Buckingham Palace from the Blue Bridge traversing the focal lake is the best you'll discover. The lake overflows with ducks, geese, swans and other waterfowl – including the popular pelicans, acquainted with the park in 1664 as a blessing from the Russian Ambassador to King Charles II.
