The Swedish National Day is here! This year, celebrations have been a little different from last years, with the Swedish Royal Court, Skansen and many other organizations hosting virtual celebrations. Regardless of how and where you may be commending, we trust you do it well. As with a large number of the Swedish celebrations, the Swedes realize how to commend them, however not always why. That, notwithstanding, does not make a difference to the public day. This day is commended first and foremost thanks to Gustav Vasa, Sweden's first genuine lord, and you better accept the Swedes know it and know it with satisfaction. As one would expect of any autonomy day or public day, there are a lot of celebrations all over the country. The most famous festival takes place at Skansen, close to Stockholm, where the King and Queen of Sweden celebrate alongside the rest of the Swedish public. Some Swedes may even dust off their public costume and wear it to the festivities! Typically, the King and Queen of Sweden partake in a service at Skansen, Stockholm's outdoors museum, on the National Day. The yellow and blue Swedish banner is run up the mast, and youngsters in customary peasant costume present the illustrious couple with bouquets of summer flowers.
